Oklahoma Power 25
We're another week closer to the run to the State Tournament and take an updated look at the Power 25 after another week of games. We put together the Power 25 by looking at each team's entire season resume with emphasis put on district wins, Power 25 wins, strength of schedule, and strength of record. The 2024 campaign has proven to be one of the tightest across all classes with multiple programs having legitimate chances of taking home the hardware in May.
The top 2 spots remain the same with Choctaw staying at number 1 even after dropping a pair of games this past week. The Yellowjackets have amassed an impressive record of 16-3 since spring break and is getting contributions up and down the roster on a nightly basis. Owasso stays at number 2 after a week that saw them go 3-1 and pick up a district sweep over Sand Springs. The Rams have the highest win total across all of 6A and the pitching depth is starting to show up.
Tuttle and Stillwater see jumps into the top 5 after they continue their winning ways, with Tuttle picking up a huge district sweep over Chickasha to complete their undefeated run in 4A-4 and Stillwater working a perfect 4-0 week capped by a win over Edmond North. Oktaha and Carl Albert move up into the top 10 with Oktaha putting together a strong 3-0 week that saw wins over a strong Dewar team and taking down Bixby. Carl Albert has seemed to right the ship after a mid season lull, winning their last 12 games and showing the strength that we expected from them early on in the year.
Another program that has seen their stock continue to rise and now landing at number 14 is the Edmond Santa Fe Wolves. They went through their struggles earlier on the spring and saw them drop out of the Power 25 but are starting to get healthier and hitting their stride winning 11 out of their last 13. The Redhawks from Union earn their way back into the Power 25 after an impressive 5-0 week that saw a district sweep of Bixby before taking down Owasso in a Thursday night matchup. The Redhawk bats are starting to heat up and they are getting some clutch pitching performances throughout the staff to make claim as one of the hottest programs in the state right now.
