Gonthier, a NY State Games alum, put together one of the more intriguing bullpens on the day and is a name college coaches need to know heading into the summer as a 6-foot-4, 190-pound uncommitted arm looking for a home in the fall of 2026. The Ontario Royals right-hander works downhill with a fastball that sat 86-88mph and was throwing it for strikes throughout. The secondary stuff includes a sweeping slider at 70-73mph and splitter at 80-82mph. Still has some feel to come for secondary stuff but the pitches work and it’s an intriguing overall package that continues to generate some buzz heading into the spring.
