Cymbalista is a catcher who’s really jumped onto the scene over the past year. Strong frame at 5-foot-11, 200-pounds and is reliable behind the dish with a quick transfer and strong arm. Although the defence provides more value than his offensive game, he’s proven over the past year he can hold his own with the bat and more importantly that he can do it against high-level pitching. Cymbalista closed out his summer in Florida with the Junior National Team as they took on Team USA in the Friendship Series.
3/30/19
Cymbalista, a catcher for Oshawa, impressed on the 30th at EBLO scout day. At the plate, it's a powerful, yet short swing, with pop to the middle of the field. The baseball jumps off of his bat, and he has been up to 88 mph off of the tee. The catch and throw skills are impressive, thanks to quick feet and a clean transfer. Cymbalista will stick behind the plate with a bat that profiles well for the position.
