The left-handed hitting catcher has improved since last year and the rawness to his game comes across now as confidence and comfortability. Receives the ball well, soft hands and good feel for catching the baseball, doesn't get himself in a vulnerable position to often and shows strong foundation for blocking the baseball. Velocity from the crouch was 73 mph, clean transfers, continue to improve quickness and arm strength as foundation and actions are there. At the plate, rhythm to swing, gets the bat started, knee to knee load with legs, creates separation and get barrel through the zone with one-handed finish. When it's clean the ball jumps with some pop to right field, puts himself into good position in the box to hit. As the 6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect continues to add strength and improve frame he will reap the rewards as there is actions and a left-handed bat with tools.

2018 grad who is listed at 6-foot-1, 205-pound left-handed hitting catcher. Strong and thick lower half, room for added strength gains will happen for Dent. Strong foundation for game and position. Balance in swing with feel and looseness in hands, bat speed with more to come, has small lift in swing with one hand finish, hands are quiet and has approach. Defensively, continues to improve with glove and feet. Best pop time was 2.03 with velocity of 73 mph out of the crouch, transfers well with carry on throws. Looks to be able to withstand the demands of catching with frame, and another left-handed bat from Ontario. Will be a follow for schools and one to keep an eye on.
