5-foot-11, 155-pound two-way guy, Gillis is a member of the Fieldhouse Pirates. In the infield, he showed comfort ranging around and was up to 78 on throws across. At the plate, it’s a left-handed swing; he displayed a simple, repeatable swing, and when he gets his bat head out front, he shows the ability to barrel up the baseball. He worked in the mid-70’s on the mound, showed some feel for a breaking ball with 11/5 shape. Plenty of upside on the mound. It’s a clean delivery, allowing him to throw strikes—2023 to follow.
