9.9.17 - McLean, a lean 6-foot-1, 160-pound third baseman/catcher with room to add muscle and size to frame. Offensively, upright stance in the box, slightly open, hands work back with small load and little wasted movement, gets the bat started and shows a slight downhill path to ball. It's an easy swing and when he finished through contact, it comes off with carry and pop. Added strength will help take his game offensively to next level. In the infield, showed smooth actions at shortstop, loose arm with more in the tank, fundamentals are there and first step quickness will be something to focus on. Behind the dish, would at times get ahead of self, need to stay in legs and work together and be on time. Overall, 2019 grad who shows promise with feel at the plate, will be one to follow heading into 2018.
