2025 C Mason Ault has proven to be one of the top defensive catchers across the country in his class and displayed that once again at the ProCase. Posted the top catcher velocity (80mph) and pop-time (1.81-2.00) at the event with the arm strength and quick release allowing him to consistently catch runners in-game. The right-handed bat has continued to develop as he’s matured and added some strength. Still more projection in there at 6-foot, 175-pounds and was attending the ProCase fresh off a gold medal at the Canada Cup in Regina.

2025 C Mason Ault was the top catcher at the event and the bat has really developed and progressed over the past year. Proportionate frame at 6-foot, 180-pounds with room to add more strength. Posted the top catcher velocity at 76mph along with the best pop-time, ranging from 1.90-1.96 with a quick transfer and accurate arm. Right-handed hitter with a balanced setup and swing with high hands. Does a good job using his lower half to help generate bat speed and found the barrel at a rate of 70% with a peak exit velocity of 91.4mph. A catcher in Ontario’s 2025 class that should create some buzz this summer.
2/20/23
Ault (6-foot, 180-pounds) looked comfortable thoughout the day at the New Year Open. Behind the plate the actions were clean and he moved well with arm strength on display. In the box the swing has good tempo and repeated load. Ault did not get cheated with hard contact and flat path throughout the round. Will be a name to keep an eye on in the 2025 class.
