It’s been a huge start to the spring/summer for Kolodziej as he’s quickly thrust himself into the national scene. Recently cracked Ontario’s 2024 Canada Cup team and jumped up to No. 3 in our 2025 rankings this past month, coming in at No. 452 in the North American rankings. 6-foot-2, 185-pound shortstop hitter with hitter-ish tentendies from the left side. Good approach at the dish and consistently hits the ball hard to all fields. Also handles himself well at the shortstop position with good range and a mid-80s arm across the diamond. A must follow in Canada’s 2025 class.
3/29/24
Kolodziej, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound shortstop, continues to perform at a high level each time he attends an event. Ontario’s 7th-ranked 2025 grad put on a laser show en-route to an average exit velocity of 92.2mph and a maximum distance of 348-feet. Tall setup for an easy, relaxed stroke from the left-side with power potential as he continues to mature. Figures to stay on the left-side at the next level, currently profiling as a sure-handed shortstop with enough arm and the body to match. Still uncommitted, Kolodziej should be a high follow for college coaches throughout the summer season.

2026 SS Matthew Kolodziej was one of just two positional 2026s to attend the ProCase and oozes projectability at 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. Length and athletic movements at shortstop provide him with plenty of range, along with quick feet and arm strength (82mph). Shows early signs he could stick at position long-term. Smooth and balanced swing from the left-side with the ability to find the barrel. Will be fun to watch over the next couple years as the strength begins to enter his game. One of the top 2026 positional prospects in the province.
2/18/22
2025 SS/RHP Matthew Kolodziej, 6-foot-1, 150-pounds - Potentially the most projectable look and frame at the event. Athleticism is evident on the infield where he's light on his feet with good footwork. Will need to prove he has the arm strength to stick at shortstop position long-term. Left-handed hitter with a narrow stance and despite the lack of physicality in the box right now, the ball jumps of his bat with relative ease. Really intriguing overall profile as Kolodziej matures and develops his game.
