Game Performance

Notes

8/11/22

Keating showed well in all aspects of his game during Day 1 at the NE Senior Games. In the box, is a short, direct path to the ball that generates line drives to all fields. Once he got on base, he wasted no time, taking off for 2B safely within the next few pitches. In the infield, he made the routine plays with ease. Behind the dish, he receives well and has an arm that carries to 2B. Keating plays the game the right way and should be on your radar.

Nolan Keating is a name we’ve been following all week long and he didn’t disappoint today. The uncommitted 2023 has a good looking swing from the left side and consistently makes hard contact. He gets started with a toe-tap and there’s good separation at the plate. He’s a catcher who does a lot of good things on both sides of the mound. Recently moved to the 2023 class and is worth a look from college coaches.

2/09/20

Keating is a 5-foot-7, 140-pound catcher/infielder for the Peterborough Tigers. Was in the range of 2.44-2.52 with his pop-time, was 67 mph from behind the plate. Displayed clean footwork and a short arm action behind the plate. His actions were clean in the infield; his hands worked through the ball smoothly. Left-handed hitter, his lower half worked with rhythm, mechanically sound overall. Will benefit from a focus on staying back and having a still head. 2022 catcher to follow.
