PBR FUTURE GAMES
James, a long-armed, wide-shouldered 6-foot, 180-pound righty worked first out the pen and pounded the zone with a three-pitch mix. The velocity wasn’t where we have seen in the past as it was 81-83 but he showed the ability to get hitters out without his typical lively fastball. The curveball had depth and near 12/6 shape while there was still velocity as it worked in the 74-76 range and kept hitters off balance with spin numbers in the upper 2500 range. He’ll mix in a changeup and slider to as well.
