8/3/17
Kinal has smoothed out some kinks in delivery, keeping his rhythm and timing on the mound uptempo, while adding more consistent velocity in his outings. Came into relief of semi-final action in the playoffs and worked at 83-86, touching 87 mph with his fastball. Showed some arm side run when he worked on top and downhill while his breaking ball showed better spin and command with 11/5 shape at 67-69 mph. He attacked hitters with his heater, had life out his hand, got on hitters quick and had many swings and misses on the fastball. 2020 grad with stocky build at 6-foot-2, 235-pounds and a big compete level.
6/26/16
Kinal is a 6-foot-1, 216-pound 2019 prospect with thick, husky frame. The righty stood out at our freshman camp in April 2016 as he topped out at 87 mph, competed at the Procase as the youngest arm in attendance, and at the Underclass Games had two clean innings and worked in the 83 mph range with his fastball while his breaking ball had 10/4 shape and was in the 70-73 mph range. Tempo to delivery and arm works with quickness from 3/4 slot, ability to repeat mechanics and be efficient will be key for Kinal. The arm and strength is there, more velocity to come, should be a high follow from the 2019 class here in Ontario.
