Doan is an arm that created some buzz on Monday at our event. The kid can spin it amongst the best of them in the ‘27 class living in the 86-87 mph range with feel for all three pitches. A quality mover with a loose arm that possesses a 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame and there’s more there. He will be a close follow in the years ahead and should continue to trend up with added strength.
2024 New England Academic Games
Scouting Report: 6-foot, 160-pound, average athletic frame, well proportioned. A right-handed pitcher, working from set position, a 3/4 slot, whippy arm action, long out front on release. Repeats the delivery, its on time and works with minimal effort. The fastball has sink and run to it, clocked at 81 mph and showed good feel for a changeup that created some swing and misses. Lots of projection with this one.
