2017 PBR Future Games - Team Pennsylvania
6/21/17 - (MD Underclass Prospect Games) - Athletic projectable frame at 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. hits from a slightly open, athletic set up at the plate. Short leg kick load with short weight shift back and arm bar to hitting position. Uphill swing path with average bat speed but simple swing and barreled well. Shorter arm action in the outfield working through the ball well and throwing from a three-quarter slot. Projectable athlete. ---- Compact controlled delivery that is fluid throughout.  High leg kick with high hands gliding downhill. Clean athletic arm action throwing from a three quarter slot with easy effort. Ball comes out well and is hidden. Fastball had slight run to the pitch up to 83 mph on the day. Breaking ball shows a shorter 1/7 action and later break with swing and miss potential. Change up has near fastball arm speed and late life up to 78 mph. Projectable body and very interesting pitching prospect in the 2019 class.

6/13/17 6-foot-1, 165-pounder primary pitcher sat 81-82 with cut to his fastball out of an easy, fluid 3/4 delivery. Worked three scoreless innings with six strikeouts utilizing an above average 72 mph slider and an effective 76 mph changeup.  Also displayed solid right-handed swing mechanics with an 81 mph bat exit velocity.  Went 3-for-8 in game action while making several loud outs and ran a 6.77 60-yard dash.  Athletic lefty flashed solid defensive abilities around the bag at first base as well as in the outfield. Groller will represent Team Pennsylvania in the 2017 PBR Future Games in August.

5/1/17 Second time seeing 6-foot-1, 160-pound sophomore this spring.  Lefty sat 82-83 from a 3/4 arm slot registering three strikeouts on a fastball, a curveball and a changeup.  Curveball showed sharp 1/7 break, bearing in on back knee of right-handed hitters at 72-74.  Changeup was thrown with excellent arm speed at 72-73 with some late sink.

4/12/17 Brief two-inning stint. Cruised through first frame on eight pitches, getting two first-pitch outs on a sinking fastball with which he consistently worked down. The pitch sat 83-84 in his first inning and 80-82 in his second inning, and he rarely threw it above mid-thigh. Pitched primarily with his fastball in his varsity debut. Has shown a feel for both a tight slider and a fading change-up in previous viewings. Will pitch for Team PA at the 2017 PBR Future Games.

2/12/17 Long limbed 6-foot-1, 155-pound left with an easy, loose delivery and plenty of room to add to his frame. Sat 80-82 from a 3/4 arm slot with a fluid, repeatable delivery that showed some armside run. Slider has tight, late break at 73-74 while he displayed an above average feel for his 76-78 changeup. Has shown incremental velocity gains over past six months and projects for significant gains in the future.

10/29/16 6-foot, 150-pounder continued to impress with a loose, easy, rhythmic delivery. The sophomore hides the baseball well with a high knee stack and a break of the hands at waist level. He sat 79-81 with his fastball that has some late fade. Groller's changeup/curveball off-speed combination are two advanced pitches that he routinely commands for strikes. The changeup is thrown with good sell at 75-76 with arm-side run and his slider has back knee breaking action to right-handed hitters at 70-72. His athletic frame has plenty of room to fill out with additional velocity likely in the coming years.

9/25/16 6-foot, 150-pounder again showed intriguing upside. Holds his hands high during his wind-up, lowers them to his waist to separate into an arm swing that leads to a low three-quarter slot. Very solid fastball/slider combo that comes out of the same window. Fastball sat 77-80 with baby tail, while the slider, which he showed an ability to backfoot to right-handed hitters, clocked in at 69-70. Would benefit from maintaining armspeed on his change-up at 73-74, but it exhibits the potential to be a solid third pitch for him.

8/19/16 Groller is a lean 6-foot, 150-pounder that pitches out of a low three-quarter slot with some hook in his arm action. Stays on-line well to the plate and features a fastball at 78-79 and a low-70s slider with late darting action.
