Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
6/20/18 - Defensively, showed commitment to getting behind ball and playing through ball in air. Harris would benefit from being more decisive in reads and catching ball at it's height. Registered arm strength of 76 MPH on throws from the outfield.
5-foot-11, 130-pound right-handed hitter initiates swing from neutral with controlled stride staying neutral. Separation and weight shift are adequate. Hip turn is passive. There is slightly uphill swing path with length. Harris would benefit from working hands more directly to the baseball from inside. A bat exit velocity of 72 MPH was registered.
On the mound, works out of mid-to-high 3/4 arm slot with FB sitting 73-74 and showing little movement on this day. Demonstrated better ability to repeat delivery with associated improved command out of stretch. CB at 62-63 had 11/5 shape with rolling action and minimal depth. SL at 62-65 was best pitch having 11/4 short break while being consistently commanded away. Harris would benefit from staying back longer and being more aggressive with lower half in achieving greater separation.
11/19/17 - 5-foot-11, 135-pound right-handed hitter initiates swing from narrow neutral set up with short controlled, stride staying neutral. A passive weight shift was present with some tendency to allow back elbow to drift in front of hands resulting in barrel drag. Would benefit from being more aggressive with lower half while working away from hands.
Defensively, there is athleticism and fast twitch potential which is reflected in 7.09 60-yard dash. A commitment to being decisive in reads and getting behind baseball while playing through should allow continued development into a solid outfield defender.
On mound Harris worked out of mid to high 3/4 arm slot with FB sitting 71-72 mph and demonstrating subtle arm-side run. Curveball thrown at 60-65 had 11-5 shape with rolling action. Slider at 65-66 mph had short 11-4 break with limited depth. Changeup was cut to arm side at 68-69 on this day.
6/20/17 - 5-foot-11, 130-pound right-handed hitter shows developing athletic actions running 7.02 sixty and achieving 78 mph bat exit velocity. Starts from square set up and initiates swing with short knee to knee leg kick. There is some backside collapse resulting in uphill swing plane and difficulty covering away. Harris did demonstrate good feel for barrel. He would benefit from more aggressive use of lower half and maintenance of posture throughout swing.
Defensively, moves athletically. Demonstrates clean transfer. Would benefit from fielding ball out in front and from bottom up more consistently.
On the mound Harris pitching out of a high 3/4 arm slot sat 77-78 with FB. There was some subtle arm side run. Delivery is repeatable and achieves consistent solid balance point. There is some flail in cocking. Harris would benefit from more aggressive use of his lower half in transferring weight to front side.
