Physical: The two-way prospect stands 5-foot-9, 175lbs with compact strength/athleticism in the actions. 7.58 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Balanced, wide start with the hands waving off the shoulder/out in front of the chest. Utilized a coiled leg-lift stride that unleashed a whippy barrel through a flat path upon footstrike; accurate bat head getting leveraged at the front of the plate and keeping the ball in the air (50% line drive rate / 50% fly ball rate). Found an impressive 302 foot average batted ball distance and 317 foot max, pointing towards consistent ability to backspin to the baseball and create loft in the approach. Hardest results were to dead pull (RF) posting an 88 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The outfielder approached with great pace, hustling downhill through the baseball while fielding off the inside of the right foot. Short crow-hop out towards the target and a quick, low ¾ slot on the release creating some arm-side run (77 mph arm, LF projection).
Pitching: LHP - Started off the far right side of the rubber with a subtle/quick side rocker into a medium leg lift with pace at the top of the stack; landed even as the arm worked on time at release from a lower ¾ slot (FB 78-81 mph, 15 inches average HM) for strikes adding a 70-72 mph CB with depth (7 inches average). Countered with a hard diving 71-73 mph CH (15 inches HM) that can generate swing/miss on occasion.
2/07/21
Physical: Well put together, durable 5-foot-9, 175-pound frame with some sneaky strength in the movements. 7.49 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Open, loose setup as the hands showed rhythm above the shoulder. Utilized a controlled leg lift stride with ability to drive the bat head through a whippy, slight uphill attack yielding an impressive 40% line drive rate during batting practice. Was on time at the front of the plate with consistency producing a 93 mph peak bat-exit velocity and a 331 foot max batted ball distance. There’s room for even more down the line with an interesting power ceiling (22.7 G’s of rotational acceleration according to Blast Motion).
Defensively: The outfielder showcased quality athleticism during the defensive portion as he got good reads off the bat with down chest angles early in the routes. Trusted his body in space with a couple nice plays on the run; up to 82 mph from the outfield with more to come.
Pitching: LHP - The lefty shines first and foremost on the bump. Started from the right side of the rubber with above-average pace in the delivery. Good drop and drive technique with connection throughout, held direction well yielding command over an 80-82 mph FB with natural arm-side run (14 inches average). Mixed a tight 66-67 mph SL with up to 9 inches of HM, flashing a solid 75% zone rate. Can throw either pitch in any count.
8/15/19
5-foot-9, 155-pound primary pitcher showcased good rhythm and balance throughout his delivery, beginning with an overhead rocker into a high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball sat 75-78 and curveball showed consistent 1/7 shape at 62-64. Also commanded a slider with shorter, tighter break at 65-67. Showed good balance and a strong lower half with a flat barrel path through the zone. Registered a bat exit velocity of 81 mph and ran a 7.57 60-yard dash. Played through the baseball routinely and showcased solid carry on throws of 78 mph from the outfield.
