The 5-foot-10, 165-pound sophomore showcased quick feet as evidenced by his 7.25 60-yard dash. Rota is a right-handed hitter that starts from an open stance and utilizes a short stride to closed. He displayed a strong lower half with a balanced swing throughout leading to a bat exit velocity of 85 mph. Rota squared the baseball consistently while flashing some gap power potential. 

11/1/14 Rota ran a 7.30 60-yard dash an displayed an accurate 72 mph arm from the crouch with pop times of 2.22-2.34. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitter registered an 80 mph bat exit velocity from an open stance. Rota squared the baseball frequently during batting practice while displaying the ability to hit the baseball to all fields.

6/9/14 Rota is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound sophomore that showed athletic actions running a 7.12 60-yard dash. He also showed quick feet and an accurate arm from behind the plate. Rota registered pop times of 2.13-2.22 on throws of 70 mph from the crouch. The right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and flashed a bat exit velocity of 84 mph.
