1/21/18 Initiates swing from open set up with short stride to neutral. Hands work short and direct to baseball. Bat is on plane early and late spending considerable time in zone. Early hand leak and passive use of lower half reduces separation. There is some front knee stiffness in landing as well as early locking. Kuslock made swing play in bp with routine squaring of baseball. A bat exit velocity of 74 mh was recorded.
Defenesively, demonstrates solid hands and feet around the bag. Actions are athletic for first baseman.
On the mound working out of a mid to high 3/4 arm slot, Kuslock consistently stepped closed creating crossfire action with associated first base fall. He was able to demonstrate ability to repeat delivery. FB sat sat 69-70 mph with little movement. CB at 63-65 had 11-5 shape with rolling action. Ch was thrown with slowing of arm at 61 mph and had subtle arm side fade.
