Notes

Comments

2/13/22

Physical: Proportional, durable 5-foot-11, 175lb frame with some strength appearing. 8.14 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Loose, slightly upright position with the barrel pre-slotted at the shoulder. Utilized a coiled leg-lift stride to generate an uphill swing path into the hitting zone. Stayed behind the ball regularly, transferring weight on-time into the front-side at impact. A fluid barrel maintained position in the zone for an extended period, recording an 82 mph bat-exit velocity with occasional line-drive prowess. Matched plane well with additional power expected in the coming year.

Defensively: The primary third baseman operated with early glove-hand presentation out in front, bending slightly in the lower half at the touch. Adequate pace towards the target with a short arm-action on the backside producing a 72 mph arm-strength across the diamond. Some feel for the internal clock and made the play on the run with rhythm.

2/13/21

Physical: 5-foot-10, 165LBS. 8.39 60-yard dash.

Offensively: Begins with feet shoulder width apart and slightly open. Hands begin in front of shoulder and work straight back during the load in a whippy manner. Hands get to a strong load position. Bat works flat through the hitting zone. Balance at the finish of the swing was an issue at times. 81MPH top exit velocity.

Defensively: Primary 3B. Looked to funnel the ground ball at him, worked through the backhand. Threw from a low 3/4 arm slot producing a 68MPH throwing velocity across the diamond.

1/14/18 Defensively,Hands are adequate. Feet work well while gaining ground on throws. Would benefit from greater commitment to working bottom up and out front.

Offensively, initiates swing from neutral, narrow set up with aggressive leg kick and stride staying neutral. Dropping of hands and lowering of back elbow in load compromises separation. There is athleticism and intent to swing. Leg kick and hand movement create difficulty in consistently being on time. Imminent strength and coordination gains with physical maturation should aid in syncing the multiple moving parts of swing.
