Held 85-86MPH with late 2-seam action and mixed sharp two-plane SL at 2400rpms. Future advanced pitch with 19 in. HM; tunnels well. Added a killed 76-78MPH CH on an east-west plane.
16u National Championship
5-foot-10, 150-pound left-handed pitcher, lean, athletic build. Short arm action to a nearly sidearm slot. Effectively wild as he tossed 4.1 shutout innings only allowing two hits and striking out four, walking five. When in the zone, stuff is swing and miss. Fastball, 83-86, touched 87, heavy sink and run. Slider, 70-73, downer. Two pitches play off each other well.
Physical: Lean, wiry 5-foot-10, 150lb frame, high athleticism. 7.45 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Taller, narrow stance with a barrel tip at the top of the load. Utilized a short leg lift stride to initiate the swing through a lifted, uphill path towards the finish. Plenty of backspin to the pull-side gap, and lived on the barrel up to an 83 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman. Contact approach at the moment as the hands work short to long at the plate.
Defensively: The outfielder demonstrated fluid movements in space, reading the ball off the bat, and directly attacking downhill. Fielded off his right and exchanged cleanly to a mid-80’s arm to the target.
Pitching: LHP - The southpaw recently earned a commitment to West Virginia, using slower delivery to create quick arm speed and deception from ¾ slot. The FB ranged 83-85 mph with hard arm-side run, mixing 70-72 mph SL across the plate laterally. Added plus 73-75 mph CH at almost 18 inches of horizontal fade. Swing/miss in the arsenal.
Physical: 5’9 135lb LHP/OF ran an 8.02 laser timed 60 yard dash. Thin frame has room to add size and strength.
Offensively: Uses active movements out of a shoulder width stance. A knee knocking leg kick and quick hand launch propels the barrel into the hitting zone. He creates separation between his upper and lower half before firing the barrel through the baseball on an uphill path.
Defensively: He approaches the ball using athletic steps and receives the ball off of his glove side foot. He allows his momentum to continuously flow as he catches and moves into his crow hop. Arm works loose and from a high ¾ arm slot.
Pitching: He uses easy movements as he continuously builds energy throughout his body in his pre pitch wind up. His arms works loose as his body follows through after each pitch. Looks to have more in the tank with engagement of his lower half.
