6/12/22

Physical: Even, proportional 5-foot-10, 165lb frame. 7.81 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Shoulder-width, slightly bent stance, as the hands operated in rhythm above the shoulder with stretch. Utilized a simple lift and replace stride to initiate the swing through a flat path that lifted at the finish. Some rotational aspects, yielding a T86 mph bat-exit velocity and pull-side approach during his BP round. Recorded a smooth, repeatable 68% sweet spot rate.

Defensively: The third baseman featured a wider base with athletic posture and fielded the ball in the middle of his body. Chopped the feet and released accurately from full, H ¾ slot across the diamond (80 mph). Light on his toes in either direction.

Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle/left side of the rubber; quicker pace from a compact delivery. Pounded the strike zone with good north to south command of the ball on the arm-side corner. Displayed a strong 81-82 mph FB at 2273rpms with some carry and added short, two-plane 69-72 mph CB (2472rpms, strikes). Dropped in a mid-70’s change that flashed late fade to LHH.

2/27/22

Physical: Lean, projectable 5-foot-10, 165lb frame with RTF. 7.94 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Crouched, even stance with the barrel operating flat over the shoulder to start. Utilized a leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a flat path into the hitting zone. Consistent, lower one-handed finish on the backside and pull-side approach. Liked to loft the ball at times, working up to a T84 mph bat-exit velocity, 60% sweet spot rate. More power available.

Defensively: The outfielder displayed corner projection with some length in the footwork. Fielded off his left foot and gathered up around the shoulder before releasing accurately at 74 mph to the plate.

Pitching: RHP - Got the ball and went fast, staying up tempo in the delivery; full arm-swing from H ¾ slot. The FB landed at 77-79 mph, mixing a late, lateral 68-70 mph SL and 70-71 mph CH from the same release point. Really good tunnel out of the hand.

6/15/21

Physical: Lengthy, projectable 5-foot-9, 155lb frame with strength carried in the actions. 7.49 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Started from a balanced, bent stance with the hands stretched at the shoulder, initiating through a flat path with a leg-lift stride as the trigger. Successful generating leverage at the front of the plate and delivering the barrel with intent. Mostly pull-side approach and stayed on the baseball creating backspin at times over the CF head (T311 foot batted ball distance via Trackman). Worked his way up to an 87 mph bat-exit velocity and notched a solid 44% line drive rate pointing towards the ability to hit for some AVG as he matures. Room to add strength with a chance to develop into a middle of the order presence.

Defensively: The first baseman flashed adequate footwork from a medium posture, moving comfortably in either direction with strong lateral movements. A soft glove hand exchanged cleanly using an accurate, lengthy high ¾ slot on the release with average pace (81 mph arm).

Pitching: RHP - Began off the middle of the rubber using a side rocker into a balanced stack position with gradual pace to the delivery. Mostly upper-half dominated movement with a H ¾ release and quickness on the front side. Slight downward tilt into the zone at 78-80 mph with natural arm-side run (13 inches average HM via Trackman). Mixed a sweeping 71-73 mph CB when ahead for K’s and added a big-fading 71-73 mph CH at any time (17 inches AVG HM, 1766rpms AVG, 43% zone rate).
