10/18/14 Turner is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound righty that sat 81-83 from a 3/4 arm slot with arm side run to his fastball. He also displayed command of a 78 mph changeup thrown at fastball arm speed and a 69 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation. Turner commanded the strike zone and showcased repeatable mechanics.
7/20/14 Turner worked four innings allowing one run sitting 80-82 with some arm side run to his fastball. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound uncommitted senior struck out three and displayed the ability to make quality pitches to get out of several jams. Turner also commanded a 68 mph 11/5 breaking curveball and a 74 mph changeup. The righty showed the ability to work fast and challenge hitters working both sides of the plate.
6/25/14 Turner sat 80-83 from a 3/4 arm slot while displaying a 71 mph curveball with sweeping action. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound uncommitted senior also flashed a 75 mph changeup with some arm side run thrown at near fastball arm speed. Turner worked four innings in game action, striking out two.
2/16/14 Turner is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound righty that has shown considerable development in the past 12 months. The junior sat 79-82 out of a high 3/4 arm slot, an increase of nearly 10 mph from the same event last year. Turner also displayed a feel for a 70 mph 11/5 breaking curveball and a 74 mph changeup thrown at fastball arm speed. If Turner continues to add to his frame additional development and velocity is still possible.
2/23/13 Turner is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound prospect who showed a clean exchange and accurate throws across the diamond. He used a slightly open stance and good lower half rotation to create barrel whip in a solid round of batting practice. Turner demonstrated the ability to barrel the baseball consistently and showed signs of some pop in his bat with continued work and additional strength gains. Turner showcased the ability to throw three pitches for strikes out of an over the top motion. As he develops physically and adds arm strength his complimentary pitches will show greater action. Turner showed command of a knuckle ball that acts as his changeup as well.
1/13/13 Turner has an athletic body at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. He showed the ability to play through the baseball and solid arm strength across the diamond. He saved his best for last as he impressed with a good round of batting practice. Turner has a short swing plane and stays inside the baseball well allowing him to square the baseball consistently to all fields. His hands work well and he was able to get to the hitting zone on time regularly.
