Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: Taller, lean 5-foot-11, 150lb frame with projection. 7.64 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Even, slightly bent stance, as the hands operated at the shoulder with stretch. Utilized a leg-lift stride to initiate the swing into the hitting zone; T80 mph bat-exit velocity as the top handed dominated the forward move. Worked up to a 275 foot batted ball distance, room to continue lengthening base to hit off of. Generated a 56% line drive rate during his round.
Defensively: The outfielder featured longer strides, as the feet arrived on time to the ball, fielding off his left side. Glove played north/south, as the hand funneled inward and released up to 81 mph positionally.
Pitching: RHP - Even-paced delivery as the leg worked up to a higher stack and repeated to crossfire landing. The arm showed short, direct to the plate from H ¾ slot and 77-80 mph FB for strikes. Mixed short, lateral 70-72 mph SL with some cut across the zone.
Pitching: RHP - Loose drop step from the middle of the rubber; balanced stack position, utilizing drop/drive in the delivery. Features a quick arm from a shorter, gradual circle (H ¾ slot). The FB ranged between 78-79 mph, heavy and strikes, mixing a short 67-69 mph CB on an 11/5 tilt (feel, 1782rpms). Also displayed a developing 72-74 mph straight CH.
2/27/21
Physical: 5’10 140lb RHP/IF ran a 7.98 laser timed 60-yard dash. Young frame has room to continue to develop.
Offensively: Starts with a wide stance, and uses a hand pump to load and begin his timing process. Creates some good separation between upper and lower half generating some power. Barrel works down and through the hitting zone.
Defensively: Shows good pre-pitch movement to create a good first step. Has a slight delay in the catch and receiving process. Uses a long arms swing to begin his throws across the infield.
Pitching: Uses a slow and methodical windup. Maintains good body control. Shortens up his arm swing compared to his throws as an infielder.
