6/14/22

Physical: Strong, muscular 5-foot-9, 165lb frame. 6.79 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Wider, simple stance, as the barrel rests from a comfortable position to hit. Utilized a short lift and replace stride, always connected to the ground, initiating the swing through a flat path with regular effort. One-handed finish produced some lift at times, living on a line to the middle of the field. Delivered a T91 mph bat-exit velocity while flashing bat to ball skills in the approach.

Defensively: The middle infielder moved swiftly early in the route with ability to get downhill. Fielded softly off his left and released an accurate 83 mph throw across the diamond from a H ¾ slot. Made the play on the run as well.

Pitching: RHP. Begins off the right corner of the mound; late acceleration into footstrike, jumping an 80-83 mph FB into the zone. Was able to command the breaking ball and mix it often at 66-69 mph (2400 rpms), dodging barrels in this look. A fading 70-72 mph CH rounded out the arsenal.

7/13/21

Physical: Good proportions in an athletic 5-foot-9, 160lb frame. 7.27 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Started from a wider, even attack as the hands showed quiet rhythm at the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride, initiating the bat head through a flat path into the hitting zone. Stayed short and inside the ball, producing a consistent line drive approach during his round. Manipulated contact points, squaring it up to all fields en route to a T87 mph bat-exit velocity and 324 foot batted ball distance (via Trackman, doubles power). Developing top of the order presence with natural bat to ball skills in the box.

Defensively: The shortstop bounced around during defense with a hop in the “prep step.” Gained ground on the ball with active feet and a medium/lower posture at the point of attack, fielding calmly off the middle of his body. Released directly to the target from a H ¾ slot (80 mph arm, solid pace across).

Pitching: RHP - The righty started off the far left side of the rubber with a calm, compact delivery. Found a balanced stack and then exploded down the slope using high-intent at a quick, H ¾ release (jumpy FB, 79-81 mph, success above the letters). Mixed a sharp 69-71 mph SL with two-plane bite to it (more lateral shape).
