2/15/14 The 5-foot-10, 145-pound 2B showed continued development in his game. Brown showcased more fluid actions defensively and improving arm strength of 78 mph across the diamond. The right-handed hitter utilized a slightly open stance and good rhythm in his swing to produce line drives to all fields. Brown showcased a 76 mph bat exit velocity and turned in a 4.51 home-to-1B time.
2/23/13 Brown showcased a 77 mph bat exit velocity hitting out of a square stance with minimal lower body action. He barreled most pitches and showed the ability to be a consistent line drive hitter. Defensively the 5-foot-10, 135-pound sophomore demonstrated the ability to play through the baseball and made consistently accurate throws of 74 mph across the diamond. Brown sat 74-75 with an over the top arm angle from the mound. He also commanded a 72 mph changeup and a 66 mph back up breaking ball. Brown should continue to develop his complimentary pitches and see spikes in velocity as he adds to his maturing frame.
1/13/13 Brown ran a 7.84 60-yard dash and threw 73 mph across the diamond. The 5-foot-10, 135-pound prospect showcased a 74 mph bat exit velocity that he utilized to square the baseball consistently during his round of batting practice. Brown showed well on the mound and should see his velocities increase as his athletic frame continues to fill out. He commanded a 77 mph fastball that showed some arm side run, a 10/4 breaking curveball that sat 66-68 mph and a 68 mph changeup that also had arm side run. Brown also displayed a knuckle ball that sat 61-63.
