2/12/17 Prototype 6-foot-5, 200-pound frame. Repeatable delivery in which he holds his hands at his chest until separation, lands with his toe pointing at the catcher, and pitches out of an over-the-top slot. Fastball sat 86-87 and has a chance to be a heavy pitch in the future, while a split at 77-78 exhibited solid tumbling action. Struggled to get on top of his curveball at 67-70, but did flash one at the upper end of that range that had some tilt to it.
2/12/17 6-foot-5, 200-pound two-way prospect. Right-handed hitter starts from a shoulder width, square stance and utilizes a short, lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Deep load with arm-bar leads to length in swing but ball jumps off bat when on time to hitting zone with a bat exit velocity of 91 mph. Ran a 7.35 60-yard dash and showcased pop times of 2.08-2.15 on throws of 78 mph from the crouch. Large, athletic frame and recent jump in velo on mound will likely lead to interest as pitcher first, position player second, moving forward.
2/14/16 6-foot-4, 185-pound right-handed hitter. Starts from a square stance and initiates swing with a short stride and an aggressive move to his front side. A flat barrel path and a feel for the barrel lead to a bat exit velocity of 89 mph. Displayed pop times of 2.19-2.34 on throws of 72 mph from the crouch. Physical size may lead to a move to first base or a corner outfield position at the next level.
7/1/15 6-foot-3, 180-pound right-handed hitter. Starts from a square stance with some arm bar during load phase. Displayed above average feel for the barrel and an 81 mph bat exit velocity. Rother ran a 7.92 60-yard dash and flashed pop times of 2.15-2.25 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch. Receives well and shows some present arm strength. Will continue to develop with physical maturity and improvements on footwork and transition.
