7/10/18 - 5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed hitter took one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. He starts from a square stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to start. A solid hip turn and direct swing path leads to consistent hard contact with present gap power. Showcased an 85 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. Worked out solely as a catcher, but foot speed allows Hoecke to also handle duties in the outfield when not behind the dish. Registered pop times of 2.06-2.18 on throws of 72 mph from the crouch with quick feet and a clean transition. Among the top uncommitted backstops in the state. Ability to play multiple defensive positions will give Hoecke a chance to play early at the next level.
1/28/18 - 5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Displayed a flat swing path through the hitting zone with solid balance and rhythm while routinely barreling the baseball with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. Sound defender showcased pop times of 2.14-2.22 on throws of 69 mph from the crouch. Showed quick feet and a clean transition while consistently putting the ball on the bag. Completed well rounded performance by running a 7.06 60-yard dash.
