6/13/21

Physical: Athletic, compact 5-foot-11, 175lb frame with some projectability in the build. 7.74 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, crouched stance at a slightly open position; used a lift and replace stride out towards the pitcher with some weight shift into a front side with give to it, mostly pull-side approach getting around the baseball to the 5-6 hole. Operated through a flat path into the hitting zone and found success posting a 56% fly ball rate during his batting practice round. Reached a T78 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball and worked his way up to a 280 foot batted ball distance. A near 70% on-plane efficiency points to current bat to ball skills that play well at the plate.

Defensively: The primary middle infielder projects best at second base, approaching with an accurate, soft glove hand off the middle of his body with adequate pace. Moderate posture and a clean exchange at waist height, releasing across the diamond from a multitude of arm-slots, ¾ leading the way (74 mph arm, accurate).

2/06/21

Physical: Lean / athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with seasoned actions in multiple phases of the game. 7.92 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Slightly bent, open stance with the hands starting low at the shoulder. Utilized a leg-hang stride coupled and movement into a stretched position at the shoulder for launch in order to initiate the barrel through a short and efficient, slightly uphill path. Recorded an 84 mph peak bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball while generating loft at the dish (58% fly ball rate) The righty featured quality bat to ball skills in the box and repeatedly found consistent contact points in each quadrant during batting practice. Tunstall demonstrated a mostly pull-side approach and hammered pitches on the inner third of the plate.

Defensively: The primary middle infielder played low to the ground with a feel for pace and found ways to beat the ball to the spot in the route. Fielded off of the toes out in front of the left side, got slightly downhill allowing for an accurate 74 mph arm strength across the diamond out of a high ¾ slot.

2/22/20

Demonstrated feel for a long and lean 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame with room to add strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter begins in a tall, open stance utilizing a leg-lift to initiate his swing. Gets handsy at times while hitting into a soft front side, featuring a line drive approach during batting practice. Displayed some feel for the barrel with a pull side approach allowing for a 74 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.46 60-yard dash. The primary middle infielder flashed active footwork playing through the ball towards the target. A low center of gravity and quality first step generated occasional range to both sides. Soft hands played moderately well out front and repeatable transfers yielded accurate 74 mph arm-strength across the diamond out of a high ¾ arm-slot.
