10/25/14 On a loaded Royals Scout Team, DeRenzo was a clear standout. The 6-foot-1 Oklahoma recruit showcased his all-around abilities in a 10-1 rout of Georgia PG Texas Orange. Hitting third for the Royals, DeRenzo doubled down the left field line and then followed with a triple that one-hopped the left-field wall. He hits from an open setup, and shows good rhythm and a direct path to the baseball. Defensively, he has athletic feet and a strong, accurate arm, delivering consistent sub-2 pop times between innings.

11/16/13 DeRenzo is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect that showed sound catch and throw abilities with pop times of 1.93-2.01 on throws of 79 mph from the crouch. The right-handed hitter displayed a bat exit velocity of 82 mph and some gap power potential. DeRenzo hits from a square stance with a high hands load and displayed the ability to make consistent hard contact. DeRenzo also displayed a strong 84 mph arm from the outfield.
