2017 PBR Future Games - Team Pennsylvania

6/15/18 Grace was originally selected as a member of Team Pennsylvania for the 2017 PBR Future Games, but did not participate after announcing a commitment to Kentucky. Potential to be an impact defender at the next level. Run producing right-handed hitter with gap-power with room to add additional strength to his athletic frame.

Summer 2020:A2019 Super 60participant and the top-rated prep shortstop in the2019 Pennsylvania class, Grace is also the top 2022 prospect for the Rivets. He’s off to a strong start, leading the team in batting average at .317 and has only struck out three times in 41 at-bats. Although there isn’t a great deal of power in his profile, Grace has a line drive swing path, very good bat-to-ball skills and projects to hit for a high average. He makes adjustments, sees the ball well and controls the barrel. He will show near average raw power to his pull side in batting practice and can drive it hard the opposite way, but it doesn’t play into the game at this point. He has 13 hits, all singles, this summer. He’s also a plus runner and will steal some bases, but it isn’t impact speed. On the dirt he is versatile with the ability to play second, third and short. He shows above average arm strength, albeit with a little extra length in back, but quickness coming through his release. Grace also has quick feet and good body control on slow rollers with better than average range at shortstop to go along with aggressive play and the ability to accurately throw from all angles. After receiving just four starts and going 3-for-11 at the plate during a shortened freshman season at Kentucky, expect Grace to continue his development into a starter, becoming a top performer for the Wildcats in the SEC. The lack of power production may keep him out of the top rounds, but his other four tools give him a chance for top 10 round consideration in 2022.
