Diamond Notes (Week Two)

Greg Williams
Pennsylvania Director of Scouting

This week's award goes not to one player, but instead to an entire pitching staff. In two games this week a trio of pitchers from East Pennsboro combined to allow one hit in a pair of wins over Trinity and Milton Hershey.

To take these impressive numbers a step further, four Panthers pitchers have combined to toss 20 innings in East Pennsboro's 4-0 start to the season. The four have struck out 29 batters while walking seven. Opponents have yet to score against Panthers' pitching and combined the four pitchers have allowed just three hits.

Leading the way has been RHP Nick Embleton, ranked No. 36 in the PA Class of 2019. The Saint Joseph's recruit has thrown nine scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out 19 with two walks allowed.

RHP Zach Garlinger has worked seven scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and three walks allowed. The Millersville commit, ranked No. 44 in the PA Class of 2020, has allowed one hit.

RHP Jake Madden has worked five scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts and two walks allowed. The South Carolina commit ranked No. 6 in the PA Class of 2020, has allowed one hit.

Add in 2019 MIF/RHP Zach Boyer, who has tossed one scoreless inning with two strikeouts and a walk allowed, and East Pennsboro has yet to send a pitcher to the mound that opponents have been able to figure out.
