2018 PBR Future Games - Team Pennsylvania
3/2/19 - 6-foot-3, 170-pound righty sat 85-87 from an over-the-top arm slot while also showcasing an sinking action to his fastball out of the stretch. Curveball has tight 11/5 rotation at 75-79 with hard down action. Changeup was thrown at fastball arm speed with feel at 77-80 while showing arm-side run.
10/27/18 - 6-foot-3, 160-pound righty has impressed at a number of PBR events during the course of the past six months. On this date he sat 84-85 from and over-the-top arm slot with some arm-side run to the fastball. Garlinger's 12/6 curveball continues to improve and has the makings of a quality second offering at 67-69. His slider at 73-75 and changeup with similar run at 75-77 both play well off of the Fastball and curveball. Garlinger should be a close follow in this class and is likely to make a big jump in velocity if he is able to add to his current frame.
8/19/18 - 6-foot-2, 160-pound righty sat 83-85, touching 88 mph early from an over-the-top arm slot. Showcased a sharp breaking curveball at 71-73 with 11/5 rotation on this date. Worked three innings allowing one hit while striking out five. Following a solid showing for Team Pennsylvania at the PBR Future Games Garlinger will be a highly followed arm in this class moving forward.
6/27/17 Lanky 6-foot-2, 150-pound primary pitcher appear to be just beginning to reach his physical maturity. Sat 82-85 from a high 3/4 arm slot with plenty more in the tank once he learns to better incorporate his glove side of his body into his motion. Stays balanced and directional with slight cut to his fastball. Curveball has a chance to be an out pitch at 70-72 with tight 11/5 rotation. Changeup is still in development. When he did not spike the pitch it sat 74-76 with some sink.
Showcased his athleticism by running a 6.88 60-yard dash and displayed good actions defensively with 87 mph arm strength from his outfield position. Right-handed hitter loads deep and shifts weight to his front side hard at contact. Swing has length but produced a bat exit velocity of 81 mph.
