6/25/19

Ran a 7.36 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- The right handed hitter stands in the box in an athletic position, slight bend in the knees. Starts with his hands high. Most of his weight on his back side. Shifts his weight to the front side. Defensively-  As a third baseman, showed active footwork. Gets himself in a good position before fielding the baseball. Shows smooth funnel actions. Takes his time to gather himself when throwing across the diamond. Top throwing velocity across the diamond was 85 MPH. The 2020 infielder is a must follow. The bat projects well at the next level.

2/18/19

A physical 5-foot-9, 180 pounds. Ran a 7.69 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box with a wide athletic base. Loose hands, short load, quick to the hitting zone with a flat bat path. Get hips around and full extension throughout the swing. Displayed some consistent pop in the hitting portion. Exit velocity was 88 MPH. Defensively- Active footwork. Gets in a good low position when attacking the baseball. Funnels the ball out in front with a quick exchange to a ¾ arm angle. Arm plays well for the hot corner at the next level at 84 MPH. The 2020 infielder displayed good actions in the field and at the plate. The infielder is a must follow going forward.

10/27/18

5-foot-9, 180-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a toe-tap stride. Showcased a compact swing with a very strong lower half and the ability to create backspin. Consistently made loud contact while showing present power to the pull side. Registered a bat exit velocity of 86 mph and ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Displayed solid actions defensively with active feet while routinely playing through the baseball. 60 Yard Dash:
7.7
Exit Velocity:
92
Positional Arm:
74

Stocky, strong build. Defensively moves well laterally, clean glove with a quick release, needs to continue to develop more arm-strength to stick at the hot-corner. Compact, strong swing that produces high end bat speed. Generates hard contact consistently. Simple repeatable actions. Short stride. Good balance. Hanafin is a nice looking prospect to follow.

2/19/18

Standing a firm 5-foot-9, 180-pounds from a thick stronger lower half. Major improvement on his 60-yard dash from a 7.8 to a 7.44 showing signs of growth and athletic ability. Offensively- At the plate, relaxed setup with a small open front foot, hands back in a power position. On the pitch, back to even with a slight stride, compact and strong path to the ball, barrel path is on the incline with full extension, very fluid with easy power, especially to pull-side, 94 mph exit velocity off a tee. Defensively- high motor player that keeps improving, active lower half, gets through the ball with a soft glove and quick transfer. Arm-strength was 79 mph across the diamond (up 3 from last event) and there's no restrictions with the arm-action. Very sound corner bat from the Southern-tier.

6/25/17

Athletic 5-foot-9, 175-pound infielder, ran a 7.86/60. Offensively - clean and fluid swing, keeps bat on level path in the strike zone and hands inside the ball, makes consistent barrel contact, comfortable driving ball to the middle third with an exit velocity of 81 MPH; repeatable motion with some of evidence of counter rotation between upper and lower torso, further lower body engagement will add to power. Defensively - agile footwork, soft hands, confident and poised, fundamentally sound, accurate arm across infield at 76 MPH.

2/12/17

Hanafin stands 5-foot-9, 175-pounds with a thicker lower half. Offensively- At the plate, relaxed setup, slightly open, active hands. On the pitch uses a back load cocking the barrel upright before he powers to the ball from a short path. Fluid swing that generates above average power for his age, 85 mph exit velocity off a tee. Defensively- stays behind the ball with active feet, needs to focus on foot-speed when training. Glove is open with a clean transfer, long and slower release from a long arm-action. 75 mph arm-strength. Overall, there's juice projection in the bat, improved arm and foot-speed will help his overall recruitment.
