11/7/15 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter who continues to post strong measureables. Starts from an open stance and takes a knee-to-knee stride to slightly open. Compensates for a barrel wrap and hitch with very good bat speed (90-mph exit velocity). Barreled the baseball throughout his BP round. Ran a 6.68 60-yard dash and recorded 83-mph arm strength.

6/17/15 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitter with strong forearms. Starts from an open stance and stays open with his stride. Hand path is uphill, but will flash some bat speed that helps him generate a 93-mph exit velo. Finishes swing on heels, so his straight line speed plays better underway than out of the box. Posted 78-mph arm strength during workout.

11/1/14 Montecalvo showed well in all facets of the game. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound sophomore ran a 6.83 60-yard dash and displayed an accurate 78 mph arm from the outfield. Montecalvo will need to work defensively to be more fluid in his actions to better utilize his above average foot speed. Offensively the right-handed hitter registered a very solid 88 mph bat exit velocity while consistently barreling the baseball to all fields. Montecalvo uses a heel raise load with no stride and quick hands to create barrel whip. The sophomore stays behind the baseball well and uses a direct swing path to contact.

7/8/14 Montecalvo made an impression with his offensive abilities showcasing an 88 mph bat exit velocity from a square stance. The right-handed hitter utilized a toe tap stride and flat swing path through the hitting zone during a solid round of batting practice. Montecalvo showed athletic actions in the outfield with a 74 mph arm and ran a 7.06 60-yard dash.
