Physical: Compact, athletic 5-foot-10, 175lb build, strength present. 7.31 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, upright stance, as the hands started at a 45 around the head. Utilized a short lift and replace stride, directionally out towards the pitcher, initiating the swing through a slightly uphill path and two-handed finish. Created lift on the ball while letting the hands fly to the front of the plate. Drove the ball to the pull-side gap at a T88 mph bat-exit velocity, flashing impact barrel skills. Added a 319 foot distance and 67% sweet spot during a quality round of BP.
Defensively: The middle infielder got to the right of the ball, creating good angle towards the target and active footwork finished at the fielding window. Rangy defender that could handle plays in either direction. Soft glove hand, simple transfer, and H ¾ slot (78 mph arm). Made the play on the run, too.
7/15/20
Physical: Lean and compact 5-foot-7, 135-pound frame with room to continue adding strength as he matures.
Offensively: RHH. Started with a balanced, even stance with a slight bend in the knees, short lift-and-replace stride initiated a launch position from the shoulder through a workable flat barrel path into the hitting zone. Line drive approach through the middle of the field during batting practice, showed feel for the hands in the box while being able to manipulate the barrel through tight turns on pitches in any quadrant. Adjustable lower half while hitting into a stiff front side, recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 80 mph according to Trackman Baseball / 262 foot maximum batted ball distance.
Defensively: The primary middle infielder featured short and quick actions bouncing around with his first step out of a low setup. Beat the ball to the spot with some rhythm, soft glove hand working out in front of the left foot, accurate high ¾ slot across the diamond with a moderate arm circle. Will be a good defender down the line. INF - 67 mph
