Notes

Comments

2/11/23

Physical: 6-foot-0, 205 pounds; Broad shouldered, lean build. 7.65 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a two handed finish.  More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 93 MPH via Trackman. Bat speed averaged 73.4mph. High hard hit %, average distance of 218ft with a max distance of 361ft.

Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep hop while playing low to the ground. Hands are out in front while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot.   INF - 73 MPH. 3B - Plays low to the ground, fields the baseball out in front of his body with a moderate arm circle. Clean backhands.

10/29/22

Physical: Strong, projectable 5-foot-11, 190lb frame. 7.83 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Some hip-coil present from a narrow, upright stance. Utilized a controlled leg-hang stride to initiate the swing through a violent, uphill path with advanced bat-speed into the hitting zone. Plenty of depth on the turn, allowing for a pull-side approach during BP. Worked up to a T98 mph exit velocity via Trackman and tacked on a 71% line-drive rate from an XBH skill set.

Defensively: The primary first baseman featured developing actions around the bag. Choppy, wider base that allowed the ball to travel. Fielded off the center of his body and quickly released from a shallow H ¾ slot (69 mph arm). Could pick it in the dirt.
