Physical: Athletic, even proportioned 5-foot-10, 170lb frame with strength present. 7.09 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Wide, balanced stance with a high backside elbow to start. Utilized a leg-lift stride and stretched the hands to initiate the swing through a flat, leveraged attack into the hitting zone. Won the front of the plate consistently, driving the ball to the pull-side up to an 88 mph bat-exit velocity. Barrel finder that repeatedly squared pitches regardless of quadrant, recording a 71% sweet spot rate during his round. Feel for the top hand and trending upwards offensively.
Defensively: The primary backstop demonstrated adequate receiving skills from a traditional, narrow setup in the crouch. Natural catch and throw abilities stood out as the carrying tool, getting the shoulders in-line and back foot in the ground immediately. Pop times ranged from the low 1.90’s to 2.13 and reached a 75 mph arm strength from the crouch. Created good angle on the block and recovered well on the throw.
