Melone

7/18/14 Melone is a barrel-chested corner infielder with pop from the right-side. He smoked doubles to the pull and oppo sides, while also running a 4.44 on an infield single.

4/3/14 Melone showed solid bat speed and hammered two pitches up in the zone for line drive singles. He is a strong kid (6-foot-1, 200-pounds) with solid arm strength across the diamond.

2/15/14 Melone was one of the most impressive corner infielders in attendance. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound 3B took a very solid round of batting practice and displayed a 90 mph bat exit velocity. Melone hits from a slightly open stance with good balance throughout his swing. He gets to extension routinely and showed the ability to drive the baseball to all fields. Melone showed good feet and an accurate arm with throws of 78 mph across the diamond. Melone moves well for a player his size (4.22 home-to-1B).
