He made an athletic sliding catch in game play and went 2-for-3 at the plate at Slippery Rock University. Staudt showed the ability to barrel the baseball routinely in batting practice, with good lower half action and quick hands. 6/13/12 Staudt ran the 3rd fastest 60 yard dash of the day at 7.16 on a slow track. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound outfielder also displayed one of the better bat exit speed velocities of the day at 79 mph. Staudt uses a solid stance and short swing path at the plate allowing him to square up the baseball consistently to all fields.
9/25/12 Staudt showcased well in all facets of the game. Following a Friday evening football game he ran a 7.28 while not at 100% and showed one of the better bat exit speeds of the day at 83mph. Staudt went 1-for-3 in the only game he played on the weekend.
1/19/13 Staudt ran a 7.21 60-yard dash, threw 75 mph from the outfield and displayed a 78 mph bat exit velocity. Staudt showed athletic actions and good carry on his throws from the outfield. Offensively, Staudt used an open stance and an explosive lower half to generate barrel whip. He displayed the ability to square the baseball consistently and some power potential to the pull side.
