79.0
Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Physical: Twitchy, athletic 6-foot-1, 185lb frame with obvious projection in the movements. 7.36 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Tall, upright stance with slight hip coil in the start as the barrel rests on the shoulder; utilized a controlled leg lift stride, whipping the barrel through a ready, flat path into the hitting zone. Generated tons of hard contact through the middle of the field (46% hard hit rate via Trackman Baseball) and worked his way up to a 93 mph bat-exit velocity during batting practice. Created backspin and kept the ball off the ground relatively well, leading to a near 300 foot batted ball distance and extra-base hit abilities.
Defensively: The primary middle infielder featured bouncy, rhythmic actions with advanced feel on the left side of the diamond. Got the feet moving early creating momentum towards the target; smooth, easy glove hand flashing on-time in the middle of the body. Up tempo pace and natural hand-eye coordination on the run. Recorded a 79 mph arm strength across the diamond from high ¾ (slight arm-side run on occasion).
2/06/21
Physical: Strong and well put together 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame with athleticism throughout. 7.44 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Controlled, open setup as the barrel rested idle on the backside shoulder. Utilized a barrel lift coupled with a leg lift stride in order to deliver the bat head through a flat path and into the hitting zone. Generated loft in the swing (42%) while hitting the bottom of the ball and getting the arms extended out in front. Featured eye popping hand speed at the plate (27 mph) but didn’t give up efficiency (71% on-plane), which could hint at a dual threat (power and average) down the line. Peak bat-exit velocity of 94 mph and also accrued a 25% hard hit rate during batting practice (batted balls over 90 mph).
Defensively: The primary middle infielder flashed a hop in the “prep step” allowing for active feet to play right to left at the fielding window. Utilized a soft glove hand off of the middle of the body while showing adequate posture, short and quick high ¾ slot on accurate 79 mph throws across the diamond; handled the play on the run.
