Notes

Comments

6/13/21

Physical: Athletic, lean/projectable 6-foot-1, 155lb frame with room to add significant strength yet as he matures. 7.01 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - The righty began from a balanced, open stance with the chest slightly coiled over the rear leg to start. Utilized a subtle move back to the shoulder coupled with a leg lift stride to initiate a flat path into the hitting zone through a wide attack at footstrike. Stayed behind the ball well with tight turns and feel for extension allowing for plenty of loft to the middle of the field during his batting practice round (50% fly ball rate via Trackman Baseball). A 72 mph bat-speed certainly plays and can handle pitches in any quadrant, as does a strong 87 mph bat-exit velocity. Projects to be a top of the order bat with high ceiling attributes.

Defensively: The primary outfielder flashed obvious center fielder qualities during defense; easy reads off the bat and showed good stride length in space with a natural feel for the “drop step” technique. Loose, calm glove hand operating off the left foot and funneling inward towards a clean exchange at the belt loop. Whippy, accurate high ¾ slot that worked long on front side (87 mph arm).

Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle/left side of the rubber with a high leg lift initiating the movements / high hand break and a long, fluid arm that arrived through a high ¾ slot. Created noticeable ride on a 78-80 mph FB (up to 21+ inches of IVB) and drove it up above the hands on occasion. Dropped in a late 66-68 mph SL with some horizontal tilt to it (4.5 inches HM on average).

2/07/21

Physical: Athletic, twitchy 6-foot-1, 150-pound frame with obvious projectability in the build. 7.06 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Upright, slightly open stance as the hands started flat on the shoulder. Utilized a leg hang stride early in the timing mechanism allowing for increased feel for contact off the front of the plate coupled with a barrel tip at the top of the load. Line drive approach (27%) using the middle of the field mostly as a leveraged barrel at impact generated a 310 foot peak batted ball distance per Trackman Baseball. A 74 mph bat speed hints at even more power on the way soon improving an already solid 89 mph exit velocity during batting practice.

Defensively: The primary outfielder demonstrated easy centerfielder qualities galloping through the baseball with fluidity at the fielding window. Length in the strides covering plenty of ground in either direction, live 89 mph arm strength from a loose, high ¾ slot gives even more confidence he could handle captain duties in the outfield.

6/15/20

Physical: Slender, 6-foot-1, 140-pound athletic frame with projectability. 7.33 runner in the 60.

Offensively: Begins with a balanced stance and an even base with his hands just above his shoulders. Gets into his backside well with a leg-lift and small stride that gets his swing started. He has a short, direct and flat swing into the zone finishing strong with two hands that generates consistent contact. 77 exit velo during his BP round.

Fielding: Starts upright and ready to pounce with his aggressive approach in the OF. Athleticism is shown with his fluid actions, is able to glide to the spot and cover ground well with his long legs. Showcased an accurate, 78mph arm in his defensive evaluation.

2/23/20

Showcased an uber-projectable, lean 6-foot, 130-pound frame with long actions and current raw athleticism. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, even stance utilizing a leg-lift to initiate his swing. Long levers generated a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone with occasional pull side lift. Demonstrated a repeatable, fluid stroke with sink into an athletic lower half allowing for a 73 mph bat-exit velocity during batting practice. Ran a 7.19, showing off long strides that play well for straight line speed. The primary outfielder displayed active feet yielding advantageous routes to the ball and momentum towards the target. Long actions covered ground during defensive evaluations and created an accurate 78 mph arm-strength out of a whippy, high ¾ arm-slot.
