6/12/13 Basko entered the Top Prospect Games coming off an injury suffered during the high school season when he was struck with a line drive on his pitching forearm. Throwing for the first time in nearly six weeks the 6-foot, 155-pound right-hander sat 79-81 while touching 82 during his work on the mound. Basko also showed command of a 70 mph 11/5 breaking curveball and an effective two seam fastball that showed late movement. He projects as a pitcher at the next level, but also demonstrated solid glove work at 1B and an 84 mph bat exit velocity.
2/23/13 Basko is a 6-foot, 155-pound prospect who sat 81-82 from an over the top arm slot. His fastball showed late arm-side run and was consistently down in the zone. Basko commanded a 72 mph 11/5 breaking curveball and a 73 mph changeup as well. With continued growth and physical strength Basko is likely to see additional gains in velocity.
9/25/12 Basko had a solid performance in his showcase portion of the weekend with a bat exit speed of 81mph and throws of 75mph across the infield. The 5-foot-11, 145-pound pitcher shined in game play. In three innings of work on the mound Basko gave up just one unearned run. He used a 79mph fastball, a 66mph changeup and a 68mph curveball to effectively keep hitters off balance. Basko's curveball showed good rotation and a late 11/5 break.
8/23/12 Basko is a 5-foot-11, 145-pound RHP/1B with solid mechanics. In game play he showcased a 76mph fastball, a 65mph curve ball and a 66mph change up. Basko also demonstrated solid actions at first base with throws of 74mph across the infield.
