2/23/13 Gordon is a left-handed hitting prospect who showcased a very solid 88 mph bat exit velocity. He hits out of a square stance and displayed a short stroke. Gordon showed some gap-to-gap power potential and the ability to frequently barrel the baseball. Defensively he showed solid fielding techniques and a strong 83 mph arm across the diamond. Gordon sat 83-86 with solid arm-side run to his fastball out of a high 3/4 arm slot during his bullpen session. He commanded three pitches, consistently staying down in the zone. His 11/5 breaking curveball sat 73-75 while his 74 mph changeup showed some arm side run and late sink. Gordon is beginning to mature into his frame and appears primed for a solid 2013.
9/25/12 Gordon was one of the top pitchers at the event. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound right hander showed why he was selected to participate for Team Pennsylvania in the Underarmour Midwest Future Games in August. Gordon showcased an 83mph fastball, a 75mph changeup at near fastball arm speed and a 68mph curveball with good rotation.
6/13/12 Gordon has an intimidating presence on the mound at 6-foot-3, 215-pounds. The Class of 2014 right handed pitcher topped out at 83 mph, and consistently sat 81-82 mph with his running fast ball. Gordon had good control of two quality off speed pitches, and stayed down in the zone throughout his session. With his size and ease of delivery a spike of 5-7 mph is realistic over the next two years.
Offensively Gordon displayed a bat exit speed velocity of 81 mph. The left handed hitter used a level swing path to consistently square up the baseball. Gordon represented Team Pennsylvania at the 2012 Midwest Future Games.
