A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Slider

A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Slider
Sweep+

Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with fluidity in the actions. 7.01 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, even stance with the weight coiled around a slightly bent backside. Hands start with some bounce on the shoulder utilizing a repeatable lift-and-replace stride as the timing mechanism. The swing is fluid through a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Uses long levers to get deep through extension creating backspin to the pull side gap and natural lift on pitches up in the zone. Hit into a stiff front side while finding plenty of hard barrels during batting practice, 93 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: Easy movements in the middle of the field with a 4.0 pace during defensive evaluations. Clean footwork works well towards the glove hand side yielding above average range and showed the ability to display quick transfers in the middle. Can make the play on the run routinely with a soft glove hand and understanding of timing on the feet while throwing from multiple arm angles. Uses a loose high ¾ arm-slot on accurate throws across the diamond primarily. SS - 77.
Pitching: RHP - Featured an 80-82 mph FB from a slow tempoed, repeatable windup with high level hip / shoulder separation. The arm speed is real and generates high spin on the FB that plays well above the belt. Mixed a 65 mph slider with short horizontal bite.
3/01/20
Showcased quality feel for a lean 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with present strength in his actions. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, even stance utilizing a repeatable lift-and-replace stride to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Demonstrated fluidity and rhythm in the hands allowing for advanced barrel whip through contact yielding natural pull-side lift during batting practice. Displayed a strong and athletic lower half while hitting into a stiff front side generating a loud round of batting practice and a 90 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 5.21 home-to-first. The primary middle infielder played low to the ground with occasional range to both sides. Arrived to the ball on time with regularity and allowed momentum to play towards the target yielding an accurate 75 mph arm-strength from his position out of a ¾ arm-slot with ability to make the play on the run. The right-handed pitcher sat 80-81 mph out of a whippy, high ¾ arm-slot using a repeatable and controlled windup to command the fastball down in the zone. Mixed in a 60-61 mph curveball with some feel for spin, featuring 11/5 shape. Countered with a 65-66 mph changeup showing occasional arm-side run, needing to be thrown with greater arm-speed to increase deception.
1/20/19
5-foot-9, 135-pound right-handed hitter initiates from a narrow, slightly open stance and works hard to the front side during his swing helping him record a 76 mph bat exit velocity. Showcased fluid movements and advanced footwork to go along with a loose arm during defensive evaluations. Notched 71 mph on throws across the diamond. Right-handed pitcher starts from a high 3/4 arm-slot and showed good extension on fastballs ranging from 73-76 mph. Curveball was showed 11/5 rotation at 56-60 mph. Changeup featured short arm-side run at 58-63 mph.
1/21/18
Offensively young, developing player initiates swing from open set up with short stride to neutral. Intermittent early hand leak and passive weight shift reduce separation. Hands work directly to baseball. Achieves good leverage through solid release of back side into firm front side. Swing plane is steep. Overall, there is upside offensive potential with physical maturation and strength gains.
Defensively, uses feet to create advantageous hops. Shows commitment to working out front. Demonstrates clean transfer and confidence in hands which are above average for present developmental level.
On the mound, works out of mid 3/4 arm slot demonstrated solid balance, rhythm and ability to repeat delivery. FB at 67 mph showed consistent arm side run. CB sitting 60-62 mph at best had moderate depth but was inconsistent on this day. CH was thrown with adequate sell and subtle arm side fade at 59-62 mph.
