6/15/23

Physical: 6-1, 190 pounds; Long, Sturdy build. 7.5 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Loads straight back with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a finish around the back.  More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 91 MPH via Trackman.

Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; uses prep step while playing low to the ground. Hands are underneath the body with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot.   INF - 79 MPH.

Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while wrist hooks behind back; standard 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 82 MPH, while sitting 79-82 MPH; arm side run.  SL: 72-74 MPH; short action. CH: 70-73 MPH; fading action.

2/18/23

Physical: 6-foot-1, 185 pounds; Long, lean build. 7.38 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Lifts hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a two handed finish.  More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Dangerous freshman in the batters box, imposing build with high bat and hand speed metrics via blast. Consistently hard hit balls into the air with a max distance of 327ft.

Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep step while covering ground laterally. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Long arm swing from a low 3/4 arm slot.  INF - 83 MPH. Showed ability in covering ground to the backhand. High velo across as a freshman with a solid 60 YD time at his size. Talented corner infielder.

Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using an angled drop step. Mid chest leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while arm wraps behind the body; standard 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 84 MPH, while sitting 82-83 MPH; arm side run with sink. CB: 67-69 MPH; showed depth.  CH: 70-72 MPH; runs.  Heavy fastball showed sink and run, as did the high spin CH. CB showed some depth.

10/29/22

Physical: Advanced, projectable 6-foot-1, 185lb frame. 7.39 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Upright, even stance at shoulder-width, as the hands start calmly. Utilized a stretched lift-and-replace stride to initiate the swing through a whippy, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone towards a high finish. Plenty of burst available with longer arms creating backspin on the ball. Recorded a T90 mph exit velocity via Trackman and 42% barrel rate, up to a 278 foot distance.

Defensively: The third baseman featured some rangy movements using low posture and a trusted glove-hand. Really engaged the hips after the touch for a full-body throw across the dirt (82 mph). Showed off a multitude of routes on the approach.

Pitching: RHP. It’s a loose, easy delivery, middle of the rubber setup. Regular pace with some tall-and-fall down the mound, throwing strikes often at 80-81 mph (2240). Some arm-side run and tough angle to the bottom, mixing a lateral upper-60’s CB and commanded 68-70 mph CH.
