Physical: The recent West Chester commit stands 6-foot-1, 170lbs with projection/athleticism.
Pitching: RHP - Begins off the middle/left side of the rubber using a slower, momentum-building pace in the delivery. Swung the leg to a higher stack position, landing at a wide base with some separation into footstrike. Able to follow direction on the finish with a strike throwing operation, tunneling pitches out of a similar H ¾ slot. The FB ranged from 83-86 mph at 2245rpms (41% zone rate via Trackman). Mixed a well-spun 73-75 mph CB for strikeouts up to 14 inches of sweep and 7 inches of depth on its descent to the plate. Countered with a commanded 75-77 mph CH with hard fade to arm-side at 1896rpms. Liked to compete early in counts and could pitch backwards with present feel.
6/13/21
Physical: Lean, projectable athlete at 6-foot-1, 170lbs with fluid movement patterns in all phases; two way abilities flash. 7.04 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Slightly bent start with the hands just above the shoulder, next to the ear to begin; utilized a short lift and replace stride to initiate the swing through a flat path at impact. Creates length and leverage at the front of the plate, peppering the middle of the field with hard contact during batting practice. Posted an impressive 44% line drive rate per Trackman Baseball with obvious feel for the barrel. Top of the order type at the next level, able to give consistent at-bats. Recorded an 89 mph bat-exit velocity with room for more as he continues holding strength.
Defensively: The middle infielder moved well to either side with gliding actions in either direction, beat the ball to the spot allowing for solid pace during his defensive round. Soft glove hand presented on-time, out in front and a clean exchange at the belt yielding accurate throws from an immediate trigger at ¾ to high ¾ slot (83 mph arm).
Pitching: RHP - The primary righty set up off the middle of the rubber with slow, gradually developing pace in the delivery. Gets to a high/balanced stack position before driving out with good connection in-line towards the plate. Consistent, high-¾ release that tunneled everything out of the same window; kept hitters off balance with three pitch mix - FB entering at a 33% clip from 83-86 mph, CH diving to arm-side (77-79 mph, sell), and a two-plane, downer 71-74 mph CB. Has thrown strikes, competed each time we’ve seen him in live-action.
