Physical: Lean, uber-athletic 5-foot-11, 165lb frame with some projection left. 6.78 runner in the 60-yard dash pointing towards stolen-base abilities.
Offensively: RHH - Even, balanced stance at shoulder-width apart; slight rhythm at the shoulder utilizing a lift and replace stride before driving connected through a flat path into the hitting zone. Line drive approach with high contact/hand eye coordination, evidenced by a 93 mph bat-exit velocity (90 mph average) and 30% hard hit rate via Trackman Baseball. Packs a punch in his frame able to get extended smoothly at the point of contact. Found great success in the LCF gap in batting practice and game action with extra-base hit projection as he continues gaining strength. Posted bat-speed reaching up to 74 mph with ability to be consistently on time with the fastball.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured above-average tempo and footwork, beating the ball to the spot with soft glove hand actions. Quick exchange/release from an accurate high ¾ slot, changing arm angles on the run with ease. Handled plays in any direction showing off the range and could create 4.0 second feet on occasion (81 mph arm).
2/06/21
Physical: 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with athleticism and projection throughout; 7.11 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Slightly bent, open stance as the hands started high at a 45 by the head. Utilized a barrel tip coupled with a leg kick stride in order to initiate the bat head through an explosive, flat path and into the hitting zone. Recorded a 29% line drive rate (62% on plane efficiency) with above-average feel for the barrel. A 50% hard hit rate (batted balls over 90 mph) pointed to high level consistency at the plate; recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 92 mph per Trackman Baseball. Both a 23.1 mph hand speed and a 73 mph max bat speed were advanced measurables allowing for a consistent, middle/pull-side approach.
Defensively: The primary outfielder approached the baseball with a downhill chest angle and confidence in the technique, repeatedly got over the front side with momentum allowing for a live and accurate 85 mph throwing arm … the infielder flashed a low center of gravity showcasing feel for lateral movements, a soft glove hand could give or go get it depending on the hop, and an 83 mph arm strength was more than serviceable from the left side.
3/01/20
Showcased a lean and athletic 5-foot-9, 145-pound frame with advanced feel for his body and occasional twitch in his actions. The switch-hitter mirrors from both sides of the plate starting with a balanced, even stance utilizing a knee-knock to initiate a fluid, slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Generated present sink into the lower half with noticeable quickness in the hands, allowing for a short stroke through the zone and an impressive 86 mph bat-exit velocity during batting practice. Demonstrated a middle of the field approach with ability to lift to the pull-side if pitched there. Ran a 4.08 home-to-first showing off the athleticism he possesses in his frame. The primary middle infielder played low to the ground with quality footwork, getting through the ball with regularity towards the target. A soft glove hand pushed and pulled depending on the hop, making the play on the run with repeatability and ease. Recorded an accurate 77 mph arm-strength across the diamond out of a high ¾ arm-slot, which should keep him at second base for the time being.
