Brown

Brown is a 6-foot-2, 205-pound LHP who attends Penncrest HS.  He went 3-1 with a 1.50 ERA, 13 H, 5 BB and 18 K in 23.1 IP as a sophomore on his way to 3rd-team all-Central League recognition.

9/28/14 Brown sat 80-82 from a 3/4 arm slot with arm side run to his fastball. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound uncommitted lefty also mixed a 69 mph curveball with 1/7 shape and a sharp breaking slider at 73 mph. Brown worked quickly and pounded the strike zone registering five strikeouts, including all three hitters in his final inning of work. He has a frame that projects additional velocity gains and hides the baseball well with a high knee delivery and long arm motion.

6/15/14 Brown's FB sat at 83mph and he touched 84, along with a CB at 67-70.  He has some funk in his delivery, competes well, and filled up the zone.

3/27/14 Brown consistently worked down in the zone with a 79-81 FB that had occasional armside run. He also mixed in a CB at 68-69, showing good attack and mound presence against a line-up with six Division I commits (and possibly more to come).
