8/19/16 Parkland 2017 right-handed pitcher continues to bring consistent stuff to the mound with him. Out of a three-quarter slot, he pounded the zone with good command of a fastball at 80-83 that touched 84 and had consistent cut to it. The Trojans co-ace also incorporated a slider at 66-69 and a change-up at 69-72.
11/1/14 Giovenco sat 77-79 from a high 3/4 arm slot commanding both a 4-seam and a 2-seam fastball at identical velocities. The sophomore's 2-seamer showed some cut action and his 69 mph changeup was thrown at near fastball arm speed. Giovenco slows his arm speed considerably in delivering his 64 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound righty showed good balance and repeatable mechanics while commanding the strike zone with all three pitches.
