Pitcher of the Week: 2017 RHP Ryan Giovenco

Following the loss of lefty Connor Higgins (Arizona State) and righty Rhett Jacoby (Moravian) to graduation Parkland HS entered this spring in search of a new No. 1 starter. Junior right-hander Ryan Giovenco has filled that role and then some.
The 6-foot, 180-pound, currently ranked No. 105 in the PA Class of 2017 rankings.has gone 6-0 in that role while holding opponents to a .195 average against. Giovenco has yielded just 23 hits in 31 innings of work while striking out 30 against just 12 walks. The junior showed signs of significant velocity gains at the Elite Prospect Showcase in November where he sat 81-84.
Giovenco appears primed for a big summer and should turn some heads in August as a member of the Team PBR Pennsbylania roster at the Pennsylvania Travel Baseball Championships.
