The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Physical: Wiry athletic 6-foot-3, 170lb frame. 7.12 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Loose, slightly bent stance from a mostly upright position. Utilized a toe-tap stride to initiate a short-to-long, direct path into the hitting zone towards an on-plane finish. Regular effort during BP with a high barrel rate and T90 mph exit velocity via Trackman. Showed off a present feel for both gaps at the plate. Adjustable athlete who can really go down and get the ball.
Defensively: The primary outfielder featured body control in space and some tempo through the touch. Rounded footwork on the ball created a wide variety of routes, using a clean exchange and accurate 77 mph arm-strength out of a H ¾ slot.
6/12/22
Physical: Long bodied athlete; 6-foot-3, 170lb frame. 7.09 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Wider, bent stance, as the hands operated just off the shoulder to begin. Utilized a short leg lift stride to initiate a connected move through a flat path into the hitting zone. Delivered a 100% sweet spot rate, into the 90 mph exit velocity range via Trackman Baseball. Short to long approach and much improved extra-base hit skillset to the pull side of the field. Did damage when getting leveraged at the front of the plate with barrel control.
Defensively: The outfielder showcased choppy, quick twitch first step and rounded the ball in either direction. Bent at the waist with an immediate trigger out of a moderate H ¾ slot (77 mph arm, accurate). Corner OF appeal.
2/27/22
Physical: Taller, athletic 6-foot-3, 170lb frame. 7.09 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wider, balanced/open stance, as the bat-head started on the shoulder to begin. Utilized a toe-tap stride to initiate the swing through a flat path towards a two-handed finish on the backside. Front shoulder opens early at times, but good direction takes over. Recorded a T91 mph bat-exit velocity and added a 342 foot distance, showcasing what he can do when timing up extension at the front of the plate. Gap to gap strength and some lower half burst available in the box.
Defensively: The outfielder displayed comfortable reads and range in either direction. Rounded the ball downhill with the chest and fielded with early presentation off his left side. Accurate 73 mph arm strength from a moderate, H ¾ slot. Corner OF projection.
6/15/21
Physical: Lean, lengthy 6-foot-3, 165lb frame with athleticism and projection left. 6.93 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wide, balanced attack at the front of the box, getting into the legs at a slightly bent position. Utilized a leg lift stride in order to initiate the bat head through a slightly uphill path into the hitting zone turning on the back hip towards a high finish on the backside. Found success on a line through the LCF gap, posting a 43% line drive rate via Trackman en route to a consistent batting practice round. Notched a near 300 foot batted ball distance able to show doubles power on occasion and displayed a T90 mph bat-exit velocity, good enough for future middle of the order consideration as he continues filling out. High contact rate and able to live on the barrel to pull, staying balanced throughout the move.
Defensively: The primary outfielder approached with a quick first step and immediate reads off the bat, playing behind and down through the baseball on time. Fielded inside the left foot with a smooth crow hop and clean exchange as the arm worked with pace through a H ¾ slot (76 mph arm, accurate). Left field/CF abilities as he matures with the arm action that suggests more velo is on the way.
2/27/21
Physical: 6’3 165lb OF/CIF ran a 7.25 laser timed 60 yard dash. Thin frame has length to use to his advantage. Plenty of room for developed strength.
Offensively: A tall yet wide stance, has a small load backwards before driving forward. Has a slight pause in his load before making the decision to attack the ball.
Defensively: Has a simple approach to the ball. Makes an exaggerated crow hop before releasing the ball to the plate. Works on top of the ball to keep throws low and hard.
